Split squat starting from the bottom up!

For split squats, adjust the rack pins to a point just below where your knee touches and assume position under with upper back against the bar, perform a "semi-good-morning" with the knee down to load the legs, then stand explosively! You'll be able to assume a durable position before bearing load which allows you to stand stronger!
